Wastewater Treatment Processing for Down

In response to the requirements of the international markets for the quality of down, the down materials must be fine washed over 6 to 7 cycles with an appropriate refining agent. Thus, down washing consumes a significant amount of water. To meet the requirements of environmental protection for wastewater discharge, water conservation and greater recycling rate for industrial water are required. The down industry has always been criticized as an industry with high water consumption and consumes huge amount of water resources. Improvement of the wastewater treatment and the efficiency of wastewater treatment along with re-introduction of the recycling water system not only reduce the amount of fresh water used but help achieve the goal of high-efficiency recycling of water resources.

The dyeing and finishing plants use a lot of metal catalysts and dyeing/ finishing agents, and thus the pollution degree of the wastewater is high and the amount of the chemicals used in these plants is high as well. On the other hand, the chemical agents used in down are relatively simpler and have much less impact on environmental sustainability and environmental protection than the dyeing and finishing industry; moreover, majority of these companies that are capable of establishing a wastewater treatment facility for down usually have their corporate social responsibility and care for environmental issues.

Kwong Lung realized the importance of wastewater treatment far before the government started to establish relevant regulations. Therefore, during the early stage of constructing the plant, we invested in building a wastewater treatment facility. Kwong Lung utilizes the activated sludge method to break down the dirt, blood, and excess oil and fat on the down by taking the advantage of the power of microorganisms in the environment and thus the production processes or wastewater treatment are eco-friendly and no excess chemicals are used during these processes. A water recycling system is added to the process of wastewater treatment to significantly reduce the waste of water resources of the earth. From the comparison of the testing for raw wastewater and effluent, most dirt has become sludge for waste treatment. The treated effluent is very clear and clean and can be recycled back for use in the washing stage of the manufacturing process.
